The aim of the book is to invite our youngest citizens to explore their city through colour, creativity, and curiosity. Together with schools across Portsmouth, we want to bring to life 100 Sparks: stories of courage, community, and innovation that have shaped who we are today.

The Portsmouth Diverse City Trail
As part of our 100 Sparks centenary celebrations, we want the Portsmouth Diverse City Trail to bring the stories from our colouring book out into the real world. With your help we want our family-friendly trail to take children and their families on an adventure to explore Portsmouth’s streets, parks, and landmarks, discovering the 100 Sparks that make our city so brilliantly diverse.
From artists and inventors to sailors, scientists, and storytellers, each stop on the trail highlights a person, place, or event that has helped shape Portsmouth’s proud identity.
Armed with your Portsmouth Colouring Book Guide, we want you to follow the trail, collect stamps or doodle, and see our city in a whole new light. It’s a journey through time, creativity, and community, showing that Portsmouth’s true strength lies in its people and their stories.

A baker, a sailor, a park or a fête,
A moment, a memory that makes Portsmouth great!
With paw prints to follow and stories to share,
The ROAR’s in the city it dances through air!
