SPARK IN THE PARK

Seek Your Spark! Explore your local park, discover hidden treasures and connect with your community!

Join us on an adventure this summer as we explore Portsmouth’s parks on a mission to unlock hidden treasures.

You’ll have fun, think creatively, build confidence and make friends. Plus you'll be greeted with a warm welcome from our awesome community partners!

Over the summer break Seekers Create and friends will be in 5 parks across Portsmouth. Your mission is to pick up a trail map from one of our community hubs and walk to the park to find 12 signs. Each sign contains a Braille letter to decode. Find 12 signs and decode 12 Braille letters to reveal a secret message. Return to our community hubs to doodle your secret message at Seekers Doodle Station. Upload your doodle creations to your socials using the hashtag #SparkInThePark

Spark In The Park has been made possible thanks to support from our partners at Spark Community Space  Cash for Kids and GRP Solutions

"There are 12 steps to guide,
12 Keys to seek and 12 doors to unlock"

Spark in the Park is a new initiative designed to link various parks within our community to local community groups, offering free educational and fun activities for all age groups.

Our goal is to foster a sense of community, promote physical activity, and provide educational opportunities through interactive sessions and events.

Every week there will be a new set of 12 signs to find in the park. Each sign contains a symbol, Braille letter to decode and a bonus QR code to scan.
Families will start and finish at a community hub, where they will pick up a trail map. Families will walk to the park and look for 12 signs. Together, families will decode the Braille letters using the Braille key, matching the letters to the symbol on the trail map. Find all 12 letters to reveal a secret message / doodle prompt.  Return to the community hub and visit Seekers Doodle Station to doodle your doodle prompt. Take a photo of your creation and upload it to Seekers Community Facebook group using the hashtag #SparkInThePark
