Ear Thermometer

Memory Form

Super Soaker

Which of these items have a link to space? Answer

All of them!!
Ear thermometer – Because normal thermometers can’t measure the temperatures of faraway objects, NASA tried out infrared technology to measure the temperature of distant planets and stars. Ear thermometers use infrared to measure the thermal radiation from your ear drum in the same way.

Memory foam – NASA researchers were searching ways to protect pilots during flights and developed memory foam as a cushioning. We can find memory foam now in beds, sofas, chairs, shoes and sports helmets.

Super Soaker – Lonnie Johnson, a rocket Scientist working for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory was working on a heat pump for a rocket. By accident he invented a way to shoot out water fast and used this to develop the super soaker.
