Communities Know IT!
Our team are delighted to be helping the Portsmouth and Southampton Chinese community stay connected during the Covid pandemic. We're supplying internet enabled tablets to older and more vulnerable people. Young people (and our technical staff) are helping to teach elders how to use modern technology.
Our young volunteers are preloading the tablets with useful social media and video conferencing applications. So that people get used to using a tablet. We're creating virtual trails using maps-like drawings with multimedia and web linked content to map out where people have physically been in their lives. We want to reduce loneliness; support young people; improve our community infrastructure with more communally available devices; and promote networking and peer support.
