Seekers recently attended Hack Pompey at the Future Technologies Centre in University of Portsmouth and the Jetsam gang. The aim of the ‘Hack’ was to create a ‘thing’ in 8hrs with a bunch of talented tech geeks. We got fed breakfast and a variety of snacks throughout the day and Pizza for lunch. At the end of the day we got to present our ideas. Seekers team doodled a map to help us communicate what we do. We started by doodling an infinity loop a figure of 8 trail track.
The left hand side of the track is all about people. We used Seekers 12 step personnel development icons from our #SeekYourSpark programme. We wrote some key words about the programme in a circle on the left.
The right hand side of the track is all about planet. We doodled the United Nations icons of 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We wrote some key words about the #SDGgoals in a circle on the right.
In the centre of the map we doodled our ‘Ship of adventures’ (our community vessel for business delivery). The ship’s anchor and chain links represents work / life balance.
We doodled some points of interest (POI) on cards we could add or remove as required, depending on what trail project we are focusing on. On this occasion we chose our Portsmouth Diverse City Trail. To summarise: Seekers is all about helping young people ‘unlock’ the door to their imagination. To explore their dreams. Discover opportunities and create their future. Making the world a better place along the way.

The whole day was super fun and a huge amount of interesting knowledge exchange happened and friendships formed. Seekers look forward to collaborating with Google Developers Student Club in the near future.
